Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder. ^ A ^ followed by a letter indicates that the letter was superscripted. * Names were transcribed as seen regardless of spelling. * Passengers where numbered by the transcribers for ease of referencing. * None died during the voyage, therefore this coloumn was eliminated. 1 - 11: the last name should be Adnam. 1 Charles Adnam and family The earliest known location for this family is the small hamlet of TUFTON, near Whitchurch, Hampshire, England. The second generation – Charles who married my 2nd Great Aunt - Elizabeth TANNER and most of their children all emigrated on the ship Yorkshire from Liverpool to New York. They then settled in Ontario, Canada. Some of them were attracted to the cheap sale of land in Saskatchewan and farmed there. Several of the children seemed to marry childhood friends from Whitchurch. Names are PAVEY, Mary Evelyn Beatrice LONGMAN the famous American sculptress; Mildred Valley THORNTON nee STINSON the famous Canadian artist and writer. Charles Adnam on this voyage was the son of Charles Adnam (1771 - 1850) and Elizabeth Yates (1764 - 1850). Charles Adnam, the son, was born about 1794 in Whitchurch, Hampshire, England and died on 25 Oct 1873 in Zone Twp, Kent County, Ontario, Canada aged about 79. Charles married Elizabeth TANNER, daughter of John TANNER and Alice SMITH on 2 Nov 1830 in Whitchurch Hampshire England. Elizabeth was born on 21 May 1807 in Whitchurch, Hampshire, England. They had nine children: Elizabeth, Emma, Eliza Ann, Charles Lloyd, Louisa, Clara Delitia, George, Fanny Hephzibah and Mary Ann. Other names in this family, by marriage are: Henry Wise, James Cole Pavey, Edward Stinson, Henry Smith, Laura Jane McTavish, Ethel Alberta Heywood, Edwin Henry Longman, James Laversuch, Diana Jones, James Seward, Charles Batt.
