Transcriber's Notes:
The original lister numbered the passengers, but began the numbering at #1 again
for the Steerage Passengers. This transcriber continued the numbering consecutively
for easier reference. Only Passengers #1-3 were Cabin Passengers. The remaining
were Steerage passengers.
The lister used some curious spelling for both the place these passengers came from
and the cities to which they were going. Generally these spellings were maintained.
A question mark (?) is used for letter/letters that cannot be read because of the
quality of the document. Where possible a suggestion is given in the Transcriber's
Notes of what this letter or letters may be.
An asterisk (*) is used to refer to an item in the transcriber's notes, which
further explains the entry.
The original lister recorded the names as given name and then surname; the transcriber
has reversed this order for ease in alphabetizing and reference.
The original lister provided a recapitulation at the end of the document and the
Captain signed the document.
10 Age: Possibly 28
18 Surname - umlaut "u"
26 & 27 Surname - umlaut "u"
31 Midder or Medder
39 Surname: Drawsel, Drawiel
42 Is this passenger really a male? She's listed as female, yet name seems to be
male's name and also the occupation is mason
81 It appears that the original lister has mis-placed the destination of this
passenger and placed his origin in that column.
85 Surname: Umlaut "u"
90 Surname: Umlaut "a"
111 Age is actually one-and-one-half.
118 Full name is Catrina Friederike Basthagen.
148 Age is one-and-one-half
161 Where does he intend to locate? Wilwaukee?
