I, Jas Anderson do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the RMS Africa whereof I am Master, from Liverpool.
                                                                                                  So help me God.

The transcription preserves the original spelling.

The manifest scribe did not number the passengers; the numbers have been added by the 
transcriber to aid with referencing.

All ditto marks on the original manifest have been replaced with the actual words 
indicated.

The column entitled "Died on the Voyage" was retitled by hand to read "Wheth^r in states 
or not" and yes/no was recorded.

 5-7 Occupation as written.
13 First name or initials faded or erased, illegible.
21 Initial not clear, could be 'D' or 'P'.
22 Name originally recorded as M^r A Falquet, lined out and 
   only surname recorded; ending of surname illegible because of ink smear.
29 1st number of Age obscured by stray mark, could be 30y
29-30 Surname could be Russele or Russell.
31 Occupation as written.
33 Age could be 23y or 25y.
39 Surname is probably miswritten Robinson.
45-47 Passengers could be family traveling together, surname Donnely or 
      Donnelly for all.
54 Surname could be Henz or Kenz.
59 Age could be 21y or 31y.
60 Ending of surname illegible.
62-64 Passengers were grouped as "+ 3 children" with mother (psgr 63), 
      no other information was recorded.
65 2nd letter of surname overwritten, illegible.
67 Ending of Occupation illegible.
