Transcriber's Notes:

* is for error by the original recorder or to note other information on the copy added to
   the transcriber's notes.
? Transcriber unable to read due to the quality of the copy, letters are too small, written
   over or elaborate writing.

This Manifest indicates the ship left Genova on 2 April; Naples 3 April; and Palermo 4 April. This page shows Naples.
It has the number 61 stamped on the top and bottom of the given name column and the number 212 is written onthe top left
of the page. Below that, and just above the first columns is another number written, it looks like it begins123, but the
next numbers are not clear, but maybe 88 Transcriber does not know what this refers to. Nationality to last residence
columns have ditto marks from the first passenger. This manuscript page is written dark and is fairly easy to read,
though some letters look written over. Some of the recorders letters are not always clear. Some look like a u or double
c, but are most likely an n, or could be either.

Recorders often used the ditto marks. This transcriber has replaced all ditto marks with the information referred to.
The recorder wrote the gender as m for masculine and f for female, and marital status as M for married, and S for
single. This transcriber has typed these as they are on the manuscript. Occupations have ditto marks from the first
line almost to the last, as most passengers on this page are male. The last residence cities given may be a small
section, commune, of a larger city or a town outside it. Many were not found in the Atlas.

Passengers 1330, 1331, 1332, 1337, and 1350 are lined out. This usually means that the passenger was not on
this ship. They do not have the usual check before their surnames, between age and gender, or Final Destination as all
other passengers. The information of these passengers given here is visible either below, above, or through these lines.
The number of passengers making this trip were written below the nationality to last residence columns.
Of 30 passengers written on these pages, 25 made this passage.

The Italian language has no letter j, k, or w, x, or y.

The passenger listing above is only one page of this manifest. Both may be seen on the Ellis Island Web Site.

1323 Ma??ai, surname letters are not clear, but the script looks similar to line 6, passenger 1328, Mazzai. There is no
indication that these are related, as a word or mark to connect them. Numbers are written in the given name column,
713421, above it is what looks like a date, 4 a diagonal dash, 22 or 12, a diagonal dash, 31. These numbers may
relate to a later record check, usually in response to an inquiry by the immigrant. Prior to 1924 there were no
Reentry Permits. Many immigrants requested a letter or pass to guarantee their reentry when traveling abroad, to
show their previous legal admission and long residency. The letter was not a guarantee, but greatly facilitated the
immigrant's travel. Numbers are also written in the occupation column 1 dash, 52?53, the ? maybe a 3 , 5 but it
looks more like a curved backwards 7. the other numbers are quite clear. These numbers are a verification of entry
for the naturalization purposes, usually done after 1926. The first number is a naturalization district number, the
second set is either an application number or the Certificate of Arrival number. There is no date after this set of
numbers as there sometimes is. These two series of numbers were written by different hands.
1324 Bruno, surname letters look more like u u, but is most likely Bruno.
1325 Del Fra?e, there is an X before the line number, and what looks like D K above the line number, rather than the usual
SI or BSI for a Special Inquiry. Transcriber does not know what this marking means, but it looks like initials of an
inspector. An X before the name column, means the passenger was temporarily detained. There is no indication why,
as with some passengers. Surname next to last letter looks written over and is taller than the others. It maybe
Frale, Frase or Frate, but is not crossed. Last residence cities are not clear but maybe Roma, the first letter looks
more like a fancy K and the others look like an e three times, bur is like how some recorders write an n or m.
Destination is not clear, the last part is light and letters are close together, nothing similar was found.
1327 Di Millo, age first digit looks more like an I or T, but maybe a 3, definitely not a 2. City of residence and of wife
     has ditto marks from 1326.
1328 Mazzai, given name looks like Polido or Potido, nothing similar was found. It does not look like the name of his
father, but maybe Paolo misspelled. Age maybe 18 or 28, digit is not clear. City of residence and of father has ditto
     marks from 1326.
1329 Maroechi, surname letters are not clear, and maybe Marocchi, age digit is not clear, all lines are connected, like a
word. Age maybe 24 or 34. City of destination looks more like Udiea, but the only similar one is Udica.
1330 S?a???illi, passenger is crossed out by a thick double line. This usually means that the passenger was not on this
ship. Much of the surname is hard to read, except what is written above, from above or through the line. Surname
maybe Scasehilli or Seasctrilli. Occupations have ditto marks from the first line almost to the last, though she is
female. Most other columns have ditto marks from previous passengers.
1331 ???lli, passenger is crossed out by a thick double line. This usually means that the passenger was not on this ship.
First letter of the surname maybe a P, the next one or two are not visible. Given name looks like Augusto, but maybe
Angelo. Age is totally blocked by the lines. Most other columns have ditto marks from previous passengers.
Destination city is also not readable, but looks to end in burg. It maybe Harrisburg, Pittsburg, or another burg.
1332 Spa????i, passenger is crossed out by a thick double line. This usually means that the passenger was not on this
ship. Surname looks to begin like Spaz or Spar, the rest is not readable, except for the last letter, i. Age looks
like it maybe 16, but may not be. Most other columns have ditto marks from previous passengers, except for able to
read. Destination city looks like two words, but is very light and unable to read. The first word looks to begin with
a B or P, the second with an H, both have at least 8 letters to them. State too is not clear, due to the line.
1333 Banco, there seems to be aline drawn through the columns, which looks to have been erased. A circle was drawn around
the age column, and a check mark after it is darker than the rest. He may or may not have made this ship. But the
line is much lighter than others crossed out on this page. Destination was written over by another hand, lighter, to
clarify it, though the writing of the recorder is clear enough.
1334 Fragette, city of last residence may begin Sq, S Q as in South something, or Sg or S G. It looks like Squigola, or
Sguigola for the passenger, and Squrgola for father. Unnder South G & Q, and Sg & Sq, the only similar ones found
are Squinzano and Squillace gulf, nothing beginning Sg. Destination looks like Pionce but does not exist, but it may
Rome, NY, though the first letter looks more like a P than an R.
1335 Forte, last residence of passenger looks like Morolo or Mozolo, and of wife looks like Morvlo. Destination second
part is hard to read, and looks like Watertower, but it maybe the only similar one found, Watertown.
1336 Letriechia, surname letters are not clear, and maybe Letricchia. Age first digit is not clear, maybe 24 or 34. A
light line runs through the able to read, for 1337 who was crossed out and did not make the ship, but all is
readable. Last residence of passenger and wife have ditto marks from 1335.
1337 Al?e?i, passenger is crossed out by two thick lines. This usually means that the passenger was not on this ship. What
can be read is either above or through the lines. Surname has the darkest line, can not make out what the other
letter or letters are. Transcriber will not guess what they are Age maybe 28 or 38, first digit is not clear. Last
residence of passenger and wife have ditto marks from 1335.
1338 Pacigici, surname letters are not clear and close together, it maybe Pacifici, as there seems to be a line below the
line and above the lower letters. Last residence of passenger and father have ditto marks from 1335. Destination is
light and scratchy, but looks to be Oswego, the only similar one found with the same number of letters.
1339 Mongra, surname was written by another hand next to that by the recorder, to clarify it, but does not. Second surname
looks more like Monagia or Mongria Last residence of passenger and wife have ditto marks from 1335. Destination is
not clear, letters are dark and close together, it looks like Cortlanve. Only similar one found is Cortland.
1340 Al?eri, surname letters are not clear, letters are close together, it maybe Alderi or Alteri. Age looks like 21 but
it maybe 31. Last residence of passenger and wife have ditto marks from 1335. Name of wife is not clear, it looks to
begin Ana or Aua, but only 2 male names begin that way, Anacleto and Anastasio. Neither of which are close to this,
and no name found that ends in olia. The only other similar name, is Aurelia, but the third letter is definitely not
an r. This maybe a nick name. Destination is also close together and not clear, it maybe Watertown, as the writing of
     other passengers looks similar.
1341 S?he??i, surname letters are close together, though dark are not clear. Surname may begin Sch or Soh, as Scheaci,
Schedri, Scheari, or Soheaci, Sohedri, or Soheari. Last residence of passenger and wife have ditto marks from 1335.
Destination was written over, lighter by another hand to clarify it, but by the recorder was clearer.
1342 Misercola, surname was written by another hand to clarify it next to that by the recorder, but by the recorder was
clear enough. Though by recorder it looks like more like Misericosa. Last residence of passenger and father have
ditto marks from 1335. Destination has ditto marks from 1341.
1343 Cellini, age looks like 17, but maybe 27. Last residence of passenger and father have ditto marks from 1335. City
of Destination is not clear whether it begins with a T or J, the next letter maybe an o. It looks like Jobanisville,
Tobanisville, or Jofanisville, or Tofanisville. The only similar one found is Johnsonville, but the letters don't
match up. The third letter and looks like an f or b, not an h. The letter before the n is definitely an a. Though
1343 and 1344 have the same surname and are going to the same destination, there is no notation to connect them.
1344 Cellini, Last residence of passenger and father have ditto marks from 1335. Destination has ditto marks from 1343.
Though 1343 and 1344 have the same surname and are going to the same destination, there is no notation that connects
     them.
1345 Boneco, surname maybe Banco, there is an extra mark next to the second letter. Last residence of passenger and father
have ditto marks from 1335. Destination has ditto marks from 1343.
1346 Maroeco, Last residence of passenger and father have ditto marks from 1335.
1347 P?o?etti, surname letters are not clear, it looks like Peoictti or Peoietti. Neither are likely as triple vowels are
not used in Italian. This transcriber will not guess what these letters are. Gender column has ditto marks from the
previous male passengers, highly unusual not to note as female. Last residence of passenger and father have ditto
     marks from 1335.
1348 Al?eri, surname maybe Alderi or Alteri, letter is not clear. Last residence of passenger and father have ditto marks
from 1335. Something is written above the Destination State and City by another hand, but is very light, and hard to
to make out most of the letters. It looks like NY then a single word does not look capitalized, ?ew??? can not make
out any other letters before or after, if there are any. That of the recorder looks nothing like this. His letters
are very close together, and it looks like the ink skipped. The city looks like Essesceo. Nothing similar was found.
1349 Bizzarri, an X is written before the line number 27, which indicates this passenger was temporarily detained. There
is no reason given. There seems to be something written just above the line number which looks like D H. Usually SI
or BSI was written for Special Inquiry hearing, this is written very light and not clear. It maybe the initials of
an inspector. Numbers are written from occupation to race columns, 3 dash, 201107 dash, then like a date, 7, dash,
31, dash 40. These numbers are a verification for naturalization purposes, usually done after 1926. The first number
is a naturalization district number, the second set is either an application number or the Certificate of Arrival
number. The last set of numbers maybe the date the person applied. The title of nearest relative seems to be written
as two words, gran and mother, no d. There is no surname given, it is listed under that of the passenger, though she
could be the maternal or paternal grand parent. Last residence of passenger and father have ditto marks from 1335.
1350 B???????, passenger is crossed out by a thick, dark, double line. This usually means that the passenger was not on
this ship. Much is not able to be read, especially the surname, even when magnified. What can be seen of the surname,
looks similar to the one above. What can be read is where the line is lighter or is above the line. Gender is most
likely male, but is not fully visible. Occupation is a long word or two words, but is not readable. It maybe farm
laborer as the rest on this page, but was written in since the occupation of the previous female passenger is
different. Last residence of passenger and father have ditto marks from 1335. There looks to be nothing written in
the Destination column, unless there are ditto marks blocked by the line from 1349.
1351 Servello, occupation has ditto marks, probably from 1350 which is not clear, or as farm labor from the rest of the
passengers on this page. Numbers are written from occupation to race columns, 3 dash, 140?91 dash, then like a date
     10 a diagonal dash, 5 a diagonal dash, 37. The ? looks like a 5, but maybe a 3. These numbers are a verification for
naturalization purposes, usually done after 1926. The first number is a naturalization district number, the second
set is either an application number or the Certificate of Arrival number. The last set of numbers maybe the date the
person applied. Name of mother, top of the letters are blocked by the line that crossed out 1360. It looks like
Acilia or Aeilia, but there is nothing similar found beginning with an A. It maybe a nickname. City of residence
of passenger and mother looks written as Filadelfia, clearly not a city in Italy, but one was found in Costa Rica.
Destination is very dark, but not clear, the only letter that can be distinguished is the second or third letter, d
     and further, an e.
1352 Pi??icn?a, surname is very light, middle letters can not be made out, and next to last maybe a g or z as Pi??enga or
Pi??enza. Age maybe 25 or 26. Occupation has ditto marks, possibly from 1360 which is not clear, or farm labor from
the rest of the passengers on this page. City of residence of passenger is not clear. Transcriber can only make out
what is above. For wife it lookd a bit clearer, and maybe Stamarelle, which looks very different for the passenger.
Name of wife, first letter is light as if faded, and looks like ??ella, but maybe Stella, the only similar one found.
Destination has something much lighter written above it by another hand. For the lighter one, the state looks like an
O, but for the City only part is readable, C??e?nnate, which could possibly be Cincinnati. However, New York was not
crossed out and is much darker.
