Transcriber's Notes:

* is for error by the original recorder or to note other information on the copy added to
   the transcriber's notes.
? Transcriber unable to read due to the quality of the copy, letters are too small, written
   over or elaborate writing.

This Manifest indicates the ship left Genova on 2 April, Naples on 3 April, and Palermo on 4
April. This page has Naples 3 Apr 1913 stamped in the header. The number 56 is stamped on the
top and bottom of the given name column and the number 207 is written twice on the top left of
the page. The name of the inspector is written below the Nationality to Last residence columns.
It looks like John A C???oz or Ce??or, the last two letters o z look to have an umlaut over
them. It is written very lightly.

Recorders often used ditto marks for columns. This recorder used dittos from the first
passenger, 1143 for most Gender, Marital Status, Occupations, and all Nationality, Race and
country of last residence, unless other wise stated. This transcriber has replaced all ditto
marks with the information referred to. The recorder wrote the gender as M for masculine or f
for feminine, and marital status as M for married and S for single. Transcriber has typed
these as they are seen on the manuscript. The writing is not clear for most last residences of
the passengers and their relatives. The cities of last residence from 1159 down, are not
clearly written, and 1153 and 1168 are listed as a US citizen. Most likely the dittos below
these refer to the Italian cities rather than US ones. The Italian cities given may be a small
section of the larger city or a town outside it, as most are not found in the Atlas. Only
given name of the wife is given in the nearest relative column, no maiden name was written, as
was usually done. Script by recorder is not always clear, letters were not written in a
consistent format, and some of his numbers look more like letters. The passenger information
is written loosely and fluidly. This page is a poor copy and much of the writing is difficult
  to decipher.

Passenger 1162 and 1167 are lined out. This usually means that the passenger was not on this
ship. They do not have a check before their surnames, between age and gender, or Final
Destination as all other passengers. Some of the information is visible either below, above,
or through these lines, especially for the nearest relative. The number of passengers making
this trip were written below the Nationality and Race columns on the lines for passengers 1170
and 1171. The inspector signed his name below that. Of 30 passengers written on these pages,
  28 made this passage.

The Italian language has no letter j, k, or w, x, or y. The letter h is only used with ch or
  gh.

The passenger listing above is only one page of this manifest. Both may be seen on the Ellis
  Island Web Site.

1173 S???a, surname letters are not clear, the first letter looks like the S by this recorder.
The second letter is not like any on the page, but maybe a p. The next could be in, or cc.
It maybe Spnia, Spina, or Spicca. Passenger 1145 looks similar. Age, second digit looks
like 2h, transcriber will not guess what it maybe. Last residence is written over and looks
like it is from Italy to US, but neither city is clear. The Italian city is darker and
looks like Bordno or Bondno, only similar one found is Bondeno. It is similar to what is
written for 1145 which is clearer. City of wife looks more like Bocacio or Bocario, nothing
similar was found. Destination is light and state looks like Id Lake, city is very light,
and looks like Porsz??l? or Borsde?l?, nothing similar was found. At the end of the line is
stamped NON IMM for Non Immigrant.
1174 Pittarelli, age first digit looks more like an L than a number, transcriber will not guess
what it maybe. Country of last residence US was written over ditto marks from 1143, but was
then crossed out. There is no indication at the end of the line showing this passenger is
not an immigrant. The city of last residence is difficult to read. The letters are small
and close together. It looks like Camphetto, but it maybe Campobello, the only similar one
found. But it may begin with an A, nothing close was found. The name of wife looks like
Margheati or Marghent?, this last letter is not clear. It maybe a nickname or a misspelling
     of Margherita.
1175 S???a, surname letters are not clear, the first letter looks like the S by this recorder.
The second letter is not like any on the page, but maybe a p. The next could be in, or cc.
It maybe Spnia, Spina, or Spicca. Passenger 1143 looks similar. City of last residence
looks like Boraiio, where city of father looks more like Borairo or Bocairo, nothing
similar was found for either. See 1143, as the scripts look similar. Destination letters
are small and close together, and difficult to make out. It looks like two words, the first
may begin with an N, R, or V, and maybe North. The second maybe R?os?e or B?os? or Bon, and
maybe longer. This transcriber will not guess what it may be.
1176 Morotti, name of mother is written in the masculine form, but is more likely Michela. City
of last residence has ditto marks from 1145. City of mother looks more like Borairo,
nothing similar was found for either. See passengers 1143 and 1145 as the cities look
similar. Destination is written as New J, rather than the usual N J.
1177 Orolovio, surname maybe Orologio, as what could be a loop from this letter may have been
written over a letter from the name below. Age, first digit looks more like an L than a
number, transcriber will not guess what it maybe. Last residence town and town of wife
looks like S Mario, nothing similar was found. Destination city was written over,
transcriber can not make out what it is. It looks to begin with West or Water, and it could
end with bridge. The only similar ones found in Conn are Waterbury and Westbrook. This is
darker, but still not clear, and the other on written is not clear at all.
1178 Fedenio, age first digit is not clear and maybe 25 or 35. Occupation written lightly over
ditto marks, which looks like lab for laborer.
1179 Ricco, the word ADMITTED is stamped before surname, and below the stamp is written SI,
indicating that either this passenger or her daughter below, was held for a special inquiry
and admitted. Both 1149 and 1150 have this stamp and writing before the line number. Often
if a mother was held so was the child and visa versa. Brackets connecting the two are
before the age and nearest relative columns. Written in the surname column for 1150 is the
word daughter then over that by another hand in darker ink, is her surname. Their surnames
are different because the surname of the mother is most likely her maiden name, as was the
custom of Italian women to use in that era. Age is written over and is not clear, it looks
like 53, but it is not clear. Marital status of W means she was Widowed at the time.
Nearest relative writing is poor looks like wife but is most likely mother. The first
letter looks like an E, but maybe a G. The rest is not very clear either, it looks like
Enarda or Euanta, nothing similar to either found, beginning with a E or G. It maybe a
nickname. Name of relative is written on the line for 1149 while the city is written on the
line for 1150. Final Destination was boldly written over by another hand, can not make out
     what is under it.
1180 ??reo, the word ADMITTED is stamped before surname, indicating that this passenger or her
mother was held for a special inquiry, below the stamp is written SI. Both 1149 and 1150
have this stamp and writing before the line number, and often if a mother was held so was
the child and visa versa. Written in the surname column is the word daughter then over that
by another hand in darker ink, is her surname. It looks like ?area or ?areo. Their surnames
are different because the surname of the mother is most likely her maiden name, as was the
custom of Italian women to use in that era. Brackets connecting the two are before the age
and nearest relative columns. Before the age column there are two brackets, and before
these is the word daughter. Age looks like 2h or 2n rather than a number, transcriber will
not guess what it maybe. Occupation has ditto marks from 1149, but she is single. Name of
relative is written on the line for 1149, while the city is written on the line for 1150.
Final destination has ditto marks from 1149.
1181 Di Matteo, age second digit looks more like an s, but maybe an 8, as 38. City of last
residence looks like Mani or Marro, nothing similar to either was found. Before and above
the first letter is what looks like an capitol I, but could be a small d. Name of wife,
letters are small and close together, and the copy is scratchy. Her name looks like
Besredina or Bessedina, nothing similar was found. It maybe a nickname. City of final
destination is not clear, and it was written wrote over another hand, but that is not
clear either. It looks to begin with Burdd, but the rest is not clear. Nothing similar was
     found.
1182 Iovane, surname was written over by another hand to clarify it. The one written over looks
like the first 3 letters are Iov then an n, as Iovn. Last residence of passenger is much
clearer than that of father, but they are the same. Destination state was written over by
another hand but can not make out what the word underneath was. City letters are not clear,
the letters are light and as if the ink skipped. It looks to begin with an H or a W, the
next letters look like es. The town maybe Weston, the only one similar that was found.
1183 Izzo, a bracket between given name and age columns connects 1152 and 1153, though no
relationship was written before it as is usual. Second digit of age looks more like an h
than a number. It looks like the bracket before the age connects this 1153 and 1154 with
1155. It is possible, since all are going to the same city. Last residence state and city
is spelled Plianfield, were written over by another hand. At the end of the line is stamped
     NON IMM for Non Immigrant.
1184 Izzo, a bracket between given name and age columns connects 1152 and 1153, though no
relationship was written before it as is usual. It looks like a bracket before the age
connects 1153 and 1154 with 1155. It is possible, since this passenger and 1155 are from
the same place and all 3 are going to the same place. Second digit of age is not clear, it
is much smaller than the first, and maybe a 0, 5, 6, or 8. It is hard to tell which. The
last residence and destination of this passenger has ditto marks from 1152.
1185 Tudeno, surname has a T printed before surname by another hand, to clarify it, but the one
by the recorder is clear. It looks like a bracket before the age may connect this pass with
1153 and 1154. It is possible, since this passenger and 1154 are from the same place and
all 3 are going to the same place. Last residence and the destination of this passenger has
ditto marks from 1153. Nearest relative word for relationship is not clear, it looks like
nino, Italian for Grandpa. Name given is not clear, letters are small and close together,
but is most likely Antonio. No surname was written, it is not clear if this is a paternal
grandfather, but will be noted under this surname on the list.
1186 Corangelo, surname third letter is not clear, looks like an r, but maybe an s as Cosangelo.
The third letter of the given name is not clear. It looks like an o, and maybe spelled
incorrectly by recorder. The right spelling is Clememte. The first digit of age looks more
like an l than any number and the second digit looks like a line with a loop to the left
on the top. The age could be 47, 27 or 42 or 22. The last residence and destination of this
passenger has ditto marks from 1152.
1187 Onofrietti, a small ink blot is over the first p of his given name. Numbers are written
from the occupation to Nationality columns, 2 dash, 833229 dash, then like a date 1 a
diagonal dash, 22 a diagonal dash, 41, dash 505. These numbers are a verification for
naturalization purposes, usually done after 1926. The first number is a naturalization
district number, the second set is either an application number or the Certificate of
Arrival number. The last set of numbers maybe the date the person applied. The number 505
is used for the verification form, used to transmit manifest information to the requesting
INS office, indicating a verification or record check. No surname was given for the mother,
so the mother will be listed under this surname, though Italian women of this era usually
     used their maiden name
1188 Vigliotta, numbers are written from occupation to Nationality columns, 1x a space 3, 1863
dash, then like a date, 3 dash, 14 dash, 36. These numbers are a verification for
naturalization purposes, usually done after 1926. The first number is a naturalization
district number, though this transcriber does not know what the x is for. These numbers
usually do not have a letter in them. The second set is either an application number or
the Certificate of Arrival number. The last set of numbers maybe the date the person
applied. The name of the mother looks like Ninnita or Nuznita, the letters are small and
close together. It could be either a nickname or Nunziata, the only similar name found,
but there is no a after the i before the t. No surname was given, so the mother will be
listed under this surname, though Italian women of this era usually used their maiden name.
1189 Rivetti, surname was written after that of the recorder to clarify it, but the first is
clear. Age, first digit looks more like an l than a number, but is most likely a 2. City of
last residence and of wife are not clear, the letters are small and close together. The
second or third letter looks like a v for the wife, but is unclear for the passenger, and
definitely ends in io or ia. It could begin with an A or C, and looks more like Arvnia,
Asvinia, Cervnia or Clivnia. Nothing similar to any of these were found, save Ariano, and
Asinara in Sardinia. Name of wife has a line going horizontally through it. It looks like
Cerx??a, but it too could begin with an A or C. If it begins with an A, the only similar
ones found are Azzurra or Arianna, and if it is a C, Cinzia or Cesarina.
1190 De Lucia, surname letters look like 4 short upward pointed lines. Second digit of age is
not clear, and looks more like a y than a number, and maybe 14 or 19. City of last
residence and of mother have ditto marks from 1159.
1191 Volen?ia, surname is not clear, letters are close together. It looks like Volentria,
Volentica, or Valenhia, though the use of the letter h in Italian is rarely after an n.
City of last residence and of wife have ditto marks from 1159.
1192 Di F??i????, passenger is crossed out by a thick line. This usually means that the
passenger was not on this ship. Much of the information can not be made out. Surname looks
like it maybe Di Francisco or Di Francino, the last letters are blocked by the line. Given
name maybe Nicola by the height, number and placement of the letters. Name of wife is above
the line, but the letters are not very clear, it could be Mina or Maria. The first was not
found on any name list, it maybe a nickname. City of last residence and of wife have ditto
marks from 1159. Destination city is unreadable, the line cuts through it and the letters
are not at all clear. This transcriber will not guess what it is.
1193 Pa?orelle, surname letters are not clear, the loop of a letter above covers this letter.
It looks like Panorelle, but maybe Panoselli, or Pascorelle. Some names on this page are
similar, but with one or two letters that are different. Numbers are written in occupation
column, 6 dash, 22845 dash. There is no date as is usual for when this was done. These
numbers are a verification for naturalization purposes, usually done after 1926. The first
number is a naturalization district number, the second set is either an application number
or the Certificate of Arrival number. City of last residence and of wife have ditto marks
from 1159. City of destination, last 3 or 4 letters are too close together to read. Only
one similar found is Galliyzan, though there is no y or z in it.
1194 Pi?cilelli, surname letters are not clear, it looks like Piscitelli, or maybe Piscilelli.
City of last residence and of wife have ditto marks from 1159.
1195 Rivetti, second digit of age is not clear, but age maybe 31, 35. or 36. Last residence was
written US and Braddo??, which maybe Braddock, but it was crossed off passenger and that
of mother have ditto marks from 1159, and at the end of the line is a stamp NON IMMIG or
Non Immigrant, which is not crossed off. Given name of wife, letters are small and close
together. It looks more like Massi or Manni, but those would be male, and no such name was
found, so most likely it is Maria.
1196 Valentino, last residence is written as US, with no city written in, then it is crossed
out. City of last residence and of father have ditto marks from 1159.
1197 Pi??ilille, passenger is crossed out by two thick lines. This usually means that the
passenger was not on this ship. Much of the information is not able to be made out, save
what is above. Surname looks similar to passenger 1164 on this page, Piscilelle or
Piscatelle. Given name maybe Antonio by the height, number and placement of the letters.
Age, second digit looks like an 0, but it is closed at the bottom, it maybe 38 or 30. City
of last residence and of wife have ditto marks from 1159.
1198 St?oV??o, first letter of surname is not clear, and it could be two names or one. It looks
like StioVino, Strovino, with the v as a capital or small letter, and with or without a
space between. Last residence is written over dittos by another hand. The word wife and
her name are under the line from 1167 which was crossed off, and the last letters are close
together. It looks like Maio or Maro, which would be male, but could be a nickname. No such
name was found, so this transcriber will not guess what it is. State of destination was
written over to clarify it, neither are, but New Haven is in Conn. At the end of the line
is stamped NON IMM for Non Immigrant.
1199 Piscitelli, surname maybe Piscilelli. Age looks more like a y than a number, but is most
likely 29. Last residence is written over dittos by another hand. City, last letter is not
clear. For passenger it runs into the word wife, in destination is written lighter, but
looks like Bradfont. The only one similar found is Bradford, PA. Name of wife looks like
Nicolella, but is most likely Nicoletta, the only similar one found . This recorder did not
always cross the letter t. At the end of the line is stamped NON IMM for Non Immigrant.
Written diagonally across the Nationality and Race columns of this passenger the next, is
the number 28, for the number of passengers who made this ship.
1200 V??o, surname is not clear, and maybe Viro or Vino, although the dot is over what looks to
be the second letter, as Vrio, which would not be used for an Italian spelling. Age first
digit looks more like an h than a number, it maybe 46 or 26. City of last residence and of
wife have ditto marks from 1159. Destination has ditto marks from 1169. Written diagonally
across the Nationality and Race columns of this passenger, and the line before is the
number 28, for the number of passengers who made this ship.
1201 Iaderosi, surname end letters are not clear, name could be Zaderosi, though the letter
looks closer to the way this recorder wrote the I for Italy on the line of the first
passenger. City of last residence and of father have ditto marks from 1159. Name of father
looks like Amtra, no similar name found, but it maybe Andrea or Amadeo, the only similar
ones found. City of destination was written over by another hand to clarify it, but word
below is darker and more clear.
1202 Giora, surname end letters are not clear, it looks like Gioia, which would not be an
Italian name, but it maybe Giosa. City of last residence and of wife have ditto marks from
     1159.
Inspector, John A Ce??o?, surname middle letter or letters look like iii, undotted. Transcriber
will not guess what it is.
