 Transcriber's Notes:

A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that cannot be
  transcribed definitely.

The designation "Ital Brig Vincenzo" in the Captain's sworn statement at the
beginning of the manifest likely implies that the Brig Vincenzo is of
  Italian ownership or registry.

The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they
are not numbered in the original manifest.

An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.

1 There is a horizontal line drawn through this passenger's name and associated
information. This usually means that the passenger was not aboard when the
     ship embarked.
