DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, H W Steele, Master of the Ship Vanguard, do solemnly, sincerely and
truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and
now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection
District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers
taken on board the said Ship at Liverpool, from which port said Ship
has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age,
the sex, and the occupation of each passenger, the part of the vessel
occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs,
and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an
inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number
of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages
of those who died.

Correspondence added 2006, passengers 4-13, NEAVE FAMILY
My husband is a direct descendant of this family, although the Neave spelling is a
variation of Neve. When William and Mary Neve (Neave) and their family arrive in
America, Mary was near death and their son Robert and infant daughter Susan passed away.
The family stayed in New York state for a few years where, on 3 March 1854, they had
another son, named Robert William Neve. My husband is the great-great-grandson of James
Page Neve who wed Anstis Kenny in 1851 near Schenectady, NY.
The family later moved to Michigan near Iona where William passed away. Mary and the
rest of the family settled in Pierson, Michigan. James and Benjamin Neve were Civil
War veterans. Attached is a photo of James Neve
