DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, T. Cook, Master of the R.M.S. Russia, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said Russia at Liverpool, from which Port the said Steamer has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died.

List or Manifest of ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the Russia whereof T. Cook is Master, from Liverpool, burthen 1707 tons.
Columns represent: given name and surname, age, sex, occupation, the country to which they severally belong, the country in which they intend to become inhabitants, and the part of the vessel occupied during the voyage. Since no one died during the voyage, this column is omitted in the transcription.

Transcriber's Notes:

  A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed 
  definitely.

  An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the 
  manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.

  A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
 
  The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not 
  numbered in the original manifest.


  1  Surname appears to be "Stark", "Shark" or "Slack".
 10  Surname is possibly "Jarvis", "Jarriss", "Jarrist" or "Parrist".
 31  Letters of surname are poorly formed and cannot be deciphered with certainty,
     but first letter appears to be "L" followed by "o" followed by either "n" or "u"
     followed by either "st" or "tt".  Name is possibly "Loutt", "Loust", "Lontt" or
     "Lonst".
 36  First digit of passenger's Age cannot be deciphered with certainty, but Age
     appears to be either 57 or 67.
 52  Surname appears to be either "Whittlesay" or "Whittesay".
 61-62  Surname appears to be either "McGann" or "McCann".
 65  Surname is possibly "Bragg", "Bragge", "Brugg" or "Brugge".
 69  Passenger's full recorded Occupation appears to be "P.F. Manufacturer".
 78  Surname is possibly "Lucas", or given name is "Lucas" and surname is "Gardan".
 80  Surname appears to be recorded as "Pollart", but might possibly be "Pollard".
 84  Surname is recorded as "Hetherton", but might possibly be "Hetherington".
