DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, J. M. Surmont, Master of the S.S. Pereire, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said Pereire at Havre and Brest, from which Ports the said Pereire has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died.

Columns represent: given name and surname, age, sex, occupation, the country to which they severally belong, the country in which they intend to become inhabitants, and the part of the vessel occupied during the voyage. Since no one died during the voyage, this column is omitted in the transcription.

  A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed 
  definitely.

  An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the 
  manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.

  A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.

  The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not 
  numbered in the original manifest.

 
  1-4  Occupation is recorded as "Modiste", one who makes and sells fashionable
       dresses and hats for women.
  7  Surname is possibly "Monthemont", "Montheniont" or "Monthessiont".
  8  Surname is recorded as "Osborn", but might possibly be "Osborne".
 10  Surname appears to be either "Kilbaurne" or "Kilbourne".
 19  Given name appears to be written as "Erianilda", but might possibly be "Crianilda".
     There is an acute accent mark over the third letter "e" in the given name.
     Surname appears to be "Crocs", "Croco", or even possibly "Aroco".
 26  Surname appears to be written as "Goiffon", but might possibly be "Gaiffon".
 54  Given name appears to be either "Jarriez" or "Janiez".
 55  Occupation is not clearly written, but is possibly "Bishop".

 72  Surname is recorded as "Ronalds", but might possibly be "Reynolds".
 73  Surname is either "Martangen" or "Martongen".
 75  Surname appears to be written as "Packer", but might possibly be "Parker".
 95  Occupation is recorded as "Modiste", one who makes and sells fashionable
     dresses and hats for women.
100  First one or two letters of given name are faint and not carefully written and
     cannot be deciphered with certainty.  Name is possibly but not certainly
     "Clemiella".
102  Passenger's Occupation is recorded as "S.S. Agent", possibly intending Secret 
     Service Agent or Steamship Agent.
102-103  Surname appears to be either "Watton" or "Wotton".
