Transcriber's Personal Notes:
Passengers 65-72 -- Peter and Anna Bares (65,66) are the great great
grandparents of Paula Goblirsch, a cousin of the transcriber of this
donated ship. This family came from Spandahlem, Kreis Bitburg, Rheinland
Pfalz, Prussia, and settled in Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin. The
baby born at sea (72) was later named Theodore. He died 9 Sept 1862 in
Cross Plains. A second son named Hubert (the younger), full brother to
Hubert (the elder) (68), was born after the family settled in Wisconsin.
This younger Hubert is the great grandfather of Paula. The two passengers
named Katherine (70 & 71) in this family were also full sisters.
More info on this family can be found at Paula's website.
