the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
in the transcriber's notes.

Correspondence 03/18/2005 passengers #56 & 57 Kreis
Passenger numbers 56 and 57 - Sebastian Kreis and Marie Kreis may be my ancestors.
There are some discrepancies between what has been related in the family history and
the passenger list, although there is a high degee of correlation: Ages, time of the
trip, point of origin.
If these are my ancestors, they moved to Pittsburgh, PA before settling in Emlenton, PA
about 1860. Sebastian eventually became wealthy from oil investments and owned and
operated a brewery and tavern in Emlenton.
The discrepancies:
According to family history, they travelled with a young daughter (Pauline) who would
have been about 3 yrs old. Marie may also have miscarried onboard. They also travelled
with Marie's sister Barbara (last name unknown), a widow with two children, one, an
infant who reportedly died onboard ship. Bill Sloan
