Transcriber's Notes:
* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber,
or is used to call your attention to additional information in the Transcriber's Notes
below.
? The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read due to quality of the
original document.
^ The use of a ^ indicates that the letter/letters following are superscripted.
The transcription preserves the original spelling.
The manifest scribe did not number the passengers; the numbers have been added by the
transcriber.
All ditto marks on the original manifest have been replaced with the actual words indicated.
The manifest scribe used a Germanic letter resembling 'fs'; to aid in reading, these have
been transcribed to 'ss'.
Much of the hand-recorded information in the testimonial was illegible because of poor
penmanship.
The manifest scribe added a column which recorded "yes" or "no" for each passenger; the
purpose is probably to indicate whether or not the passenger had been to the United States
before this voyage.
Signature in middle of testimonial could be that of the Deputy Collector of Customs. This
signature is usually found in the sworn to signature block ("Before me").
40 2nd letter of surname not clear, could be Hart or Hurt.
44-45 3rd and 4th letters of surname not clear, could be Noble or Nolte.
56 Either Age or Occupation is recording error.
60 Name is recorded as "Mr. Rendale's child"; Mr. Rendale is probably psgr #57.
75 Occupation illegible.
83 Last letter of surname not clear, could be Geighon or Geighow.
87 Name is recorded as "M^rs. Clayne & child"; the child has been assigned passenger #89
by the transcriber.
88 No other information provided for the child.
89 2nd number of Age illegible.
97 2nd number of Age illegible.
101 Name is recorded as "M^rs. Purdens child"; M^rs. Purden is probably psgr #50; no other
information provided for the child.
