Transcriber's Notes:
The manifest lists the port of departure as "San Domingo", but does not list the
name of the country in which this port resides. A modern atlas lists the following
towns with a name similar to "San Domingo":
Santo Domingo, Cuba
Santo Domingo, Mexico
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo, Costa Rica
Sao Domingo, Brazil
San Domingos, Portugal
An older atlas mentions San Domingo Island, West Indies, which is now Haiti.
An atlas of 1890 lists Santo Domingo as the island shared by Haiti and the
Dominican Republic, and Santo Domingo City as a port city and capital of the
Dominican Republic. This is the only Santo Domingo in this Atlas and there
is no San Domingo listed.
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
definitely.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber Notes to which the reader should refer.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
6 Passenger's given name is too faint to decipher or even determine the number
of letters in the name.
