Transcriber's Notes:
* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not
the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
in the transcriber's notes.
There are no native countries or intended destinations listed for the first 21 passengers.
The handwriting on this list is very clear and readable. The transcriber has done a search
on the Ancestry website for the surnames on this list, as well as a general Internet search
on them. Two of the surnames were not found: #2--Menveal and #18--Krahustowers. The
following notes list possible surnames that both sound and are spelled similarly to them and
are given as possible surnames in place of those listed on the manifest in the case that the
scribe who wrote the passenger list may have spelled the names as he heard them pronounced.
2 There is no doubt that the name is written as 'Menveal'. However, the names 'Menvielle'
or 'Menville' are two possibilities that are close to the sounding and spelling of
'Menveal'.
18 There is no doubt that the name is written as 'Krahustowers'. However, the name
'Krahustorer' is a German name that could have been meant here, as it is very close to
the sounding and spelling of 'Krahustowers'.
