Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder. * Only 159 passengers were accounted for, though the Captain lists 169. 15 This passenger is a male, name unreadable. 26 Jessup, Philadelphina, born on board (21 June) died on board. 72 This passenger is a male, name unreadable. 147-159 These are others I accidently found which I’m putting in this group. Personal Note My great, great grandfather’s letter about this voyage tells of "143 in the Steerage. passengers amongst them 68 children; 1 child died, 1 born; 23 cabin passengers; 23 sailors, Captain, & 2 mates". In those I found, I counted the 68 children, the 1 born, 1 died, but haven’t figured out who were the actual cabin passengers. The microfilm showed the original paper had been folded or crinkled, making transcription difficult.
