Liverpool, England to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
14 March 1836

DISTRICT AND PORT OF PHILADELPHIA
I ?. P. Brown* do solemnly, sincerely and truly * that the Report or Manifest subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the District of Philadelphia contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the passengers which were on board the Ship Monongahela at the time of her sailing from the port of Liverpool or which have been taken on board at any time since; that I am at present, and have been during the voyage, master of the said vessel. And I do likewise swear that all matters whatsoever in the said Report or Manifest are, to the best of my knowledge and belief, just and true. SO HELP ME GOD.

The use of a ? indicates a word or letter(s) that could not be read, due to   
   quality of the original document.

*No number for this ship is apparent.
*First initial of ship master is unclear throughout manifest (possibly 'O' or 'C').
*Usually the word 'swear' is written in after 'sincerely and truly', but it was
 not written on this manifest.
*Occupation and last column are both blank for all passengers and have been omitted.
