Correspondence 07/10/2004 passengers Jurgens, Spars
The Friedrich Jurgens and Johann D. Spars family were on this voyage.
Friedrich Jurgens aka Juergens and his family immigrated to MN via IA. The
Johann D. Spars couple lived with them. The Spars were the parents of
Anna Jurgens.
The families traveled to Pomoroy, IA where they had family already
settled. They purchased horses, wagons and food for the travel to
Bartlett Township, Todd County, Minnesota. They originally homesteaded
40 acres there with a cabin, later purchased more land and eventually
purchased a 200 acre farm Friedrich and Anna raised their family and
died in this locale. Friedrich and Anna Jurgens aka Juergens were my
grandparents, my fathers parents; Johann and Anna Spars were my great
grandparents. If you are researching these families please contact
Marge Juergens Christensen
