The captain also made some letters fancy which made it even harder to read the name. Most passengers stated as final destination United States, therefore this colomn was left blank except for a few passengers at the end. No deaths were reported on this voyage, therefore this coloumn was left blank as well. All passengers gave their occupation as Farmer, this coloumn was left blank. * An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information in the transcriber's NOTE. ? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder. ^ Indicates letters are omitted and the following letter is superscripted. 9: the last name, Bunthle is spelled with u Umlaut to read Bünthle. 11 & 12: Schlegelmi??k, the last few lettes could be ..miek, milck, milek. 24 & 25: the last letter could be e for Volke or just a fancy ending. 28: the last name is spelled with the German sz to read Weiß. 29: Belge is the French word for Belgium. 35 & 36: the last name is spelled with o Umlaut to read Mögen?an. 53: the age is written as 2 1/2. 57, 59: S^r is the abreviation for Soeur. A nun is called Soeur, followed by the first name. 60: the last name could be Duberg. S^r could be the abbreviation for Soeur. A nun is called Soeur, followed by the first name. 78: the last letter of the last name could be a fancy ending, not a letter at all in which the case the name would read Consiglier. 80: the last name could be Heinberger. 107: the last name is spelled with u Umlaut to read Müller. 109: the first name is spelled Carolien on the manifest, it could possibly be an error and should be Caroline. 122 & 123: the missing letter in the last name could be b or t for Cosby or Costy. 127: Mullerse is spelled with u Umlaut to read Müllerse. 135: the country of origin could be Suisse. 142: the last name could be Mabe or Male. 145: the last name could be Bentinger. 169 & 171: the last name could be Beger. 159: the first name could be Alphonze or Alphonce. 168 & 172: the occupation for these 2 passengers was given as farmer. 187: the first name could be Margarite. Jacob was a bootmaker. #150 & 151 Louis and Louisa settled in New Jersey and had several children including Louisa 1851, Charles 1853, Louis 1853 (twin of Charles, Wilhelm 1862, Maria Magdalena 1865.
