DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA - PORT OF PHILADELPHIA
* I, Tho. Willis do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the Report or Manifest subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the District of Philadelphia, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the passengers which were on board the Brig Cumberland at the time of her sailing from the Port of Cadiz or which have been taken on board at any time since; that I am at present and have been during the voyage master of the said vessel. And I do likewise swear that all matters whatsoever in the said Report or Manifest, are to the best of my knowlege and belief, just and true.
Sworn before me, the 31 day of March 1836 So help me God. signed Thomas Willis.

Transcriber's Notes:

*  An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not
   the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
   in the transcriber's notes.

   The sworn statement appeared after the passenger list.
   The destination in the heading was left blank. 
   The columns Country intended to inhabit and Those who died contained no data.   

   A note by passengers 7 and 8 read "Sent home by American Consul."

   A second writing of the manifest had the following differences:
    The ship's owner was Joh C. DaCostas.
    5 surname was Coctoren.
    7 surname was Dundletus.
