[signed] C. Hilken Transcriber's Notes: A question mark indicates material that was indecipherable. An asterisk indicates further information in the Passenger Notes. A caret (^) indicates superscript letters--usually part of a name abbreviation. This list has been renumbered. The original list entered some childrens' entries as the same number as the parent with a letter, i.e. 19a etc. Some explanations of place of origin abbreviations and terms: Kr Hessen = Kurhessen, electoral Hessia Gr.duch. Hessen = Grand Duchy of Hessia Kingd. = Kingdom Empr. = Empire Duck or Duk Brunswick = Dukedom or Ducal Brunswick (Braunschweig) Duch. = Duchy Böhmen = Bohemia (at that time a part of the Austrian Empire) Empr. Austria Ungarn = Austro-Hungarian Empire (Ungarn = Hungary) 4 Surname has an umlauted "u" so may be Mueller. 9 Country of origin is Empire of Austria, Böhmen (Bohemia) but the Wilwosa is found to the far right side of the destination column. Then the succeeding entries through #30 have ditto marks indicating the same country of origin and destination. 40 Entry has been overwritten and thus difficult to determine the name. Given name possibly: Daniel. Some letters of surname look like Herdt . . 44-48 Surname has an umlauted "o" so may be Hoensa. Name also may be Honia/Hoenia. 55-57 Surname could be Kopac. 62-67 Surname has an umlauted "u" so may be Mueller. 72 Note appended to this entry: aus Siegelsdorf, Bezirk Lanskron in Böhmen-- that is ...from Siegelsdorf, District of Lanskron in Bohemia. And then a note in the far right column: Died on 1 August 1864. 74 Note in far right column says: born on 22 Juli 1864. No indication as to name or gender of the baby born to this woman. 86 Note in the far right column: Died on 28 August 1864. 92 Note in the far right column: Died on 28 August 1864. 95 Surname difficult to decipher; may be Reudt, Rendt, or Resch. 102 Note in the far right column: Died on 25 Juli 1864. 105 Surname is actually von der Löhr, or Von Der Loehr. 108 Given name is either overwritten or obliterated by damage to the original. Looks like it was Hinriette. 143 Surname has an umlauted "u" so may be Luebber. 145 Surname has an umlauted "u" so may be Bruenning. 147 Note in far right column says: born on 4 September 1864. No indication as to name or gender of the baby born to this woman. 151-156 There seems to be a mixup in the entries here: no age or other information for #151 or 152, then a female #163 is given the occupation of shoemaker, etc. and the entry for Fritz Steinkamp and Joseph Leister reappears. 158 Note in far right column says: born on 2 August 1864. No indication as to name or gender of the baby born to this woman. 165 Surname has an umlauted "u" so may be Puecke. 182 Surname has an umlauted "a" so may be Hollaender. 183-187 Surname has an umlauted "u" so may be Schueler. 190 Surname has an umlauted "u" so may be Fuerst.
