I, J.C.Wienholtz do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Hambg. Personal Notes:
Passenger #9, August Carl Haseley, is the great-great-grandfather of the
transcriber's wife, Ruth Haseley Grose. The other Haseley brothers, Passengers
#3,8,9,10,and 52, are great-great-greatuncles and their families. The Haseleys
did not go to Wisconsin as indicated in the manifest but settled in western New
York State, Niagara County. They built their Lutheran Church in 1846 and
founded Walmore, New York named after the Prussian town, Wallmow, from which
they emigrated.
Passengers #78 and 79. The passenger list records the surname as Groning
(umlaut o). These two passengers are relatives of the transcriber's wife and
the name is misspelled. The name should be spelled Kroning (umlaut o) or the
modern usage is Kroening. Passenger #78, August Kroning, is her maternal
great-great-grandfather.

Passenger 123 Ernst Nitschke, his wife Hermine and son August settled in
Milwaukee to join her parents who arrived 1 year earlier. Continued to
work as a shoemaker. BILL & JAN
