SS Roman
I, Enoch Maddox Master of the Roman do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Port of Boston, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said vessel at Liverpool from which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, sex, calling, country of citizenship, native country, intended destination or location, number of pieces of baggage, location of compartment or space occupied, and date and cause of death of passengers, as required by the "Passenger Act of 1882"; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertain, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a protracted sojurn in this country. So help me God. Maddox Master.

Passenger # 25 - There is a large smuge on the film and
the surname is unreadable. It looks like it starts
with an H but could also be a M or W. One of the
letters under the smudge appears to be an i as
there is a dot above the smudge. The given name
appears to be Meris or Meria. None of the
unreadable letters in the given name extend above
or below the line.
Passenger # 26 - Looks most line an e. The surname is
dittoed from passenger 25.
Passenger # 28 - The 1st unreadable letter might be an e.
The 2nd is totally unreadable. Neither character
extends above or below the line.
Passenger # 29-32 - The surnames are dittoed from
passenger 28 and are not spelled out.
Passenger # 34 - Is either F or T. J is also a possiblity.
Passenger # 39 - Given name is Thos even though the sex
is female and occupation is spinster. Both female
and spinster are dittoed from passenger 38 and are
not actually written out.
Passenger # 44 - Unreadable character looks most like an a.
Passenger # 44,54,61,74,78 - Occupation is written as
"H Wife". This is assumed to mean house wife.
Passenger # 49 - Probably Romania as no letters extend
above or below the line
Passenger # 52 - Looks like an sn making the name Leisnan,
but the unknown characters are largely unreadable.
Passenger # 57 - Could be a g or y as it extends below
the line.
Passenger # 60 - Unreadable characters look like st, Harst.
Passenger # 64 - The surname is very dark and unreadable.
It looks like it starts with an OC but it could be
an H. Could be OGallighiew, OCallighier, Hallighiew
or Hallighier.
Passenger # 72 - Looks like the unreadable letters are ohs
making the name Berohs.
Passenger # 77 - A small letter is between the 1st and
last name. It is raised above the line and looks
like a lower case a followed by a period, a.

Passenger #112,113,114,115,116 - These had a } around
them, just after England. To the right of the
bracket there was a hand written note that said
"these not to be counted they are the Captains
family." Just below the note was an unreadable
signature. To the right of this note was a second
note (in different hand writing) saying "Port of
Boston July 2 1890 Daniel Mahoney Bdg. Officer"
