? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the
condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.
* The column for "died on voyage" has been omitted in this transcription
because there was only one such entry: passenger number 59 (see list).
* The list also contains a list of babies on board after all the other
passengers have been listed: see passengers numbered 324-339.
* Passengers numbered 1-12 travelled in First Cabin;
13-70 in Second Cabin;
71-77 in Deckhouse;
78-339 Between Deck (steerage).
* Ages were given as a fraction of the year, i.e. 11/12 which was taken to
mean 11 months. The formatter has listed these as whole numbers. The
example, 11/12, would therefore be listed as 11m.

#267-#268 - No ages listed for these two passengers
#269 - Country of citizenship is first written as Bavaria, which is then
crossed out and Un. States citizen written above it.
#270-#271 - Country of citizenship is marked as a ditto for the same as #269;
however, it is unclear whether the ditto marks are intended to indicate
Bavaria (which has been crossed out) or the United States.
#303 - Surname has an umlaut over the "o"
#304 - Entire name is blurred by a crease or tear in the original--looks it
might be Friederike Wolfsbart
#321 - Country of origin is first listed as Bavaria, which is crossed out, and
then Un. States citizen is written above it.
#324-#339 - These names are listed at the end of the passenger list with the
heading: List of Babies (I don't think there was a nursery aboard the
ship, however!)
#337 - Notice that the baby born on board is named Ottilie after the ship!

If you find an ancestor on a ship on ISTG and would like to link to your email address or home page, please submit a short paragraph about the passenger, where settled, children, etc., with the name of the ship and date of arrival, and send to the transcriber at the bottom of the manifest or to the ISTG Production Coordinator. Be sure to include the name of the SHIP and VOLUME number.
