I, James Stackpole do solemnly, sincerely and truly [left blank] that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New-York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the American Barque Montpellier* whereof I am Master, from [left blank] So help me God. List or Manifest OF ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the American Barque Montpellier* of Camden whereof James Stackpole is Master, from Rotterdam, burthen Two Hundred Sixty Four 45/95 tons.
Columns represent: Names, Age years/months, Sex, Occupation and The country to which they severally belong. Two columns have been omitted. One column listed the "United States of America" as The country in which they intend to become inhabitants. Under the column labeled Died on the Voyage, there were two notations. These will be addressed in the Passenger Notes following the manifest.

The name of this ship was Montpelier on the NARA Microfilm title page, but the
spellings of the ship within the manifest were Montpellier. Officially it
shall remain named as Montpelier for purposes of this transcription.
The misspellings of occupations are as shown on the manifest.

#9-10. Surname could be Wemer or Wenner.
#18. Middle initial could be an H or perhaps an L.
#22-23. Surname written as Helb, but most likely Heeb.
#25. First initial may be I or J.
#26. There was a notation in the Died on the Voyage column of "one
daughter July 1st".
#30. There was a notation in the Died on the Voyage column of "Died
June 18th M Herd".
#32. First initial might be I or J.
#37. Can't make out last letters of first name.
#44-46. There is an umlaut over the O.
#50. First initial could be N or V.
#51. First initial may be I or J.
#53. First initial could be I or J.
#59. Last name has an umlaut over the O.
#64. First initial might be I or J.
#70. First initial may be I or J.
#71. First initial could be an H, or it could be two initials of T.
(or I. or J.) and C. Last name looks most like Knijper.
#74M. Listed within the Emmert family and presumed to have the same last
name, although it wasn't given.
#82U. Listed within the Kopp family and presumed to have the same last name,
although none was given. Cath^a could be short for Catharina.
#95. This individual appears to be part of the Velcker family, but last
name was spelled as Velker.
#103. Margar^a could be short for Margareta or Margaretha.
