who died, passenger #198.

but no later record of him has been found.
* Numbers 111-115 and 116-119 were the families of brothers
Adolph and Gerd Cordes from Fahrendorf, Hannover. Both
settled southeast of Cole Camp, Benton County, Missouri
where Adolph died 1891 and Gerd 1888. #115 Anna Margaret
Cordes was the transcriber's great-grandmother, and
Joan Wright is a descendant of Anna's brother, #113 Claus Cordes.
A circa 1870 photo of numbers 111-112 Adolph Cordes and
wife Anna Marie Hink may be seen at CORDES.

Correspondence March 1, 2001 passenger #4 Marie Post
Marie Post married Albert "Lawrence" Noullett of Altenstadt,
Alsace-Lorraine, France before 1862. He arrived in New Orleans
in 1851 and received citizenship on Oct. 20, 1868. He was a
clerk and a proprietor of a coffee shop in N.O., LA.
They had five children: Anna, who married Daniel Hamilton: Helena
Magdaleine Lorentine (Lena), who married a man whose last name was
Nill: Maria Henrietta Emilia (Millie) who married Lewis Girdner
Rickey; Albert Lawrence Hermann, who died young and Maria who died young.
Lawrence Noullett died between 1875 and 1880. The family is recorded,
without Lawrence, in an institution for the poor in the 1880 census of
N.O., LA. No date of death has been found for Mary Post Noullett.
The only offspring of the children are thought to have been produced
by the Lena Nill marriage and the Emelia Henrietta (Millie) Rickey
marriage from which I descend. The rest are thought to have died
without issue.
My father knew Anna, Lena, and Millie (his grandmother). These are his
recollections in regard to which of the sibling had children. He has
some recall of their names and who they married and produced as well.
I would be happy to share my documented facts or my father's recall
with any interested party. Emelia Hawk
Correspondence August 16, 2001 passenger #25-30 BRUCKER
Leonhard BRUCKER is the son of Michael BRUCKER & Theresia WELLINGER of
Pfaffenweiler, Breisgau, Baden.
A stonecutter by trade, he first took his family to St. Louis. Then,
urged by Catholic Missionary Father Kundek, they settled with other
German Catholics in Jasper, Dubois County, Indiana. Their children were
Agnes, Emma, Generosa, Albertina, Amelia, George William, and Clement
(the last two born in the USA). Leonhard died in 1871, disappearing from
a boat on the Ohio River, believed drowned. His widow and children
Amelia, George William, and Clement, then went to Louisville, Jefferson
County, Kentucky, to live.
Several of Leonhard's siblings also came to America to escape the
terrible famine in Breisgau. More can be found about them at the
website below, but further information can be sent to me at
Carol Haywood. I welcome contacts with others interested in these
related families. Please visit The Brucker Family of Dubois Co, IN.
