Bark Laura
I, W. Wilmsen , Master of the German Bark "Laura" of Bremen do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the annexed List, subscribed with my name, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account or report of all the passengers who have been taken on board the said Laura at Bremen or any other foreign Port, or at sea, and brought in the said vessel into any District of the United States since her departure from the said Port of Bremen.
Sworn to, this 22nd day of April 1872 W. Wilmsen
Before me, ? M. ????? (port authority signature indecipherable)
List or Manifest Of All the Passengers taken on bord (sic) the German Bark Laura whereof W. Wilmsen, is Master, from Bremen, burthen ???
Columns represent: passengers' names, gender, ages, country of birth, last legal residence, country claiming allegiance and occupation. The column for part of ship occupied is omitted in this list because all passengers were listed as travelling in steerage. Note that the original scribe for this list only gives complete information of the heads of households; women and children listed after them are listed by name, gender and age but usually nothing further, not even ditto marks.

Transcriber's Notes:
An asterisk indicates further information in these footnotes.
A question mark indicates material that was not decipherable.
This list had extensive damage (either tears or mold on the edges and in the
middle of the pages which obliterates a lot of information.
Passenger Notes:
1 Last legal residence unclear but looks like it may be Stenfeld.
13-19 Surname difficult to decipher with certainty; looks like Krdabba or
Kedabba.
27 First letter of surname may be a "J", and sixth letter may be either
"h" or "s" thus Janitsen or Janithen.
34 Surname is almost obliterated on original list as are the entries for
most of the remaining columns.
35-38 Surname unclear: may be Imola or Imsla.
45 Entry lists only this: (son) with possible age which is obliterated.
The child is presumably the son of the two previous entries, the
Milcaseka couple.
A note in the occupation column says: born on the voyage.
48-52 Surname may be either Patz or Fatz.
69 Surname may be Pathef or Sathef.
70 Most of entry is obliterated by damage to the original, but there is
a note in the far right column saying: died of infancy.
88 Place name looks like it may be Dobra.
92 Note at end of manifest says: "son born on voyage to Anton Nowak,
passenger No. 92.
96 Between the entry for passenger #96 and passenger #97 there is an insertion
which reads: 256 (son) born in steerage. See also note for passenger #92.
106-111 Surname is almost obliterated--it may be Koesch like the previous entries
judging by the tail end of letters that are visible.
143 Given name is blurred and the gender is overwritten but the entry contains
further information usually given for males.
147 Surname may be either Rutz or Rietz.
155 Surname has an umlaut over the "u" thus could be spelled Krueger.
157 Surname difficult to decipher; may be Iwglin or Jesglen.
171 Note in far right column reads: born on voyage.
176-177 Surname may be Rugge, Ragge, or Rogge.
178-179 Entries almost entirely obliterated on original.
182 Note in far right column reads: died of croup.
192/193 I believe the original scribe of this list has reversed information for
this couple.
212 Note in far right column reads: died of croup.
251 Most of line obliterated on original.
253 Note in far right column reads: died of consumption.
