Transcriber's Notes:
There was no sworn statement on this manifest.
? The use of the question mark(?) indicates the film was too light to read.
* The use of an asterisk(*) indicateds an omission or error made by the original
recorder.
There were umlauts over first vowels in passengers 21, 24 and 112. I cannot
distinquish scribe's capital S's and L's.
Passenger notes:
8. Could be Krackauss or Knackauss.
10. Impossible to read. Maybe Lumab.
14. Maybe Lamby or Lansby.
22. Lavasin or Savasin.
41. Peter Merz was 27, his wife 43; if Peter's age is correct, Marie at
17 and other children must be from former marriage of the wife. All are
listed here under Peter Merz's name.
57. If Anton was 42 he could not have been the son of Andreas age 39.
85. First name looks something like Mmaimett.
90. Probably Ebiz but might be Eliz or Ekiz.

attended the funeral of her brother, Jacob, in 1912. She is believed to be
buried in a Catholic cemetery in New Ulm, Austin, TX.
Passenger #20 - POTH, Jacob (b-August 15, 1843 in Budesheim, Hesse)
(d-August 13, 1912 on the Hochheim Prairie, Dewitt, TX) Jacob was the only
surviving son born to Richard and Constantia POTH. He was reported to be
a frail child. He was conscripted into the Army in 1862 and served in
Welhausen's and Elmore's 20th Regiment in the Infantry. At the end of
the Civil War, Jacob married Anna Angela LAAKE in New Ulm, Austin, TX
on June 27, 1965. Between the years, 1865 and 1874, Jacob and Anna lived
in Industry, Austin, TX and Moulton, Lavaca, TX where he was a successful
farmer. In 1874, Jacob established a cotton gin/grist mill in Moulton,
Lavaca, TX. In 1890, Jacob and Anna purchased 4,000 - 5,000 acres of Dewitt
County land on the Hochheim Prairie and farmed and ranched for the remainder
of his life. Two days shy of his 69th birthday, Jacob fell ill and died.
