John Allen formally appeared before the subscriber the Clerk of the Circut Court being a court of record and made oath that he was born in Scotland on or about the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty three that he immigrated to the United States and landed at the port of Boston on or about the month of April in the year eighteen hundred and forty eight that it is his bonifide intention to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce forever all alligences and fidelity to any foreign Prince Potentate State or Sovereign whatsoever and particularly Queen Victoria where of he is a Subject John Allan Subscribed and sworn to the 5 day of Nov.
