Ship Flora
I, Bull do soleumnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, Subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New-York, contains to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Norwegian Ship Flora whereof I am Master, from Gottenburg and Tonsberg. So help me God. Christen T. Bull Sworn to this 23rd August 1849.
List or manifest of all the Passengers taken on board the Norwegian Ship Flora whereof Bull is Master, from Tonsberg burthen 600 tons.
Columns represent: names, age, sex. Occupation is only written at the top of each page and it says M??????? and Farmer. The Country to which they severally belong is written at top of each page "Norway". The Country in which they intend to become inhabitants is written at top of each page "US of America".

Martin Iverslien, known in the US as Martin Madsen/Matson was born
18 Oct 1820 in Iverslien, Ostre Gausdal, Norway. He was married to
Ronnog Nielsdatter. He settled in Jackson Co., Wisconsin. Martin
came to the US, the first of 4 brothers to immigrate. Others known
to immigrate were Iver, Torstein and Peder. Peder died on his voyage
on the ship Hannah Parr. In the 1850 census, Martin is alone, by 1860
his family is living with him in Albion, Jackson Co., Wisconsin. Since
daughter Tollena was born in Wisconsin in 1853, it is believed his wife
and 2 daughters, Martha and Annette came in about 1851 or maybe 1852.

The rest is from the Bible, prophet Isaias 55,6. King James version
Ronog born 20 May 1820 died 7 May 1901 (this gravestone appears to be
wrong as Martin was born the 18th of October and Ronnog was possibly
born 20 May but in 1812.)
