A question mark (?) indicates indecipherable material.
An asterisk (*) indicates further information in these footnotes.
Geestemunde (Geestemünde) was the port serving Bremen. It was located at the mouth
(Munde) of the Geeste River--eventually the name was changed to Bremerhaven.
The writer of this manifest uses brackets to indicate families or groups
traveling together and coming from the same point of origin.
Variant spellings of place names have been retained as found in the original list.
The captain notes that there were 4 deaths and 4 births enroute, but he
doesn't indicate which passengers died.
