LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION.
Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.
S.S. China, sailing from Yokohama July 20th, 1895 arriving at Port of San Francisco, Aug 1, 1895.
Columns represent: Number, Name, Age, Sex, Married or Single*, Occupation, Nationality, Last Residence, Final Destination in the US, Whether having a ticket to final destination, Whether in Possession of Money-if less than $30, how much?, Whether ever before in the US, Whether going to join Relative or Friend

There is no captain's statement nor captain's name attached to this manifest.
In the Married or Single column "or Single" has been crossed out.
The following columns had identical entries for all passengers and so were not 
included in the table:
 Able to Read & Write=yes
 Seaport for Landing in the US=San Francisco
 By whom was passage paid?=self
 Whether ever in Prison, Almshouse or supported by Charity=no
 Whether a Polygamist=no
 Whether under contract to labor in the US=no
 Condition of Health Mental and Physical=good
 Whether having any deformities=no
Letters that are illegible or difficult to interpret are replaced by ?.

Passenger Notes:
 2  has been to San Francisco once 1895.
 3  has been to Philadlephia 1894.
 5  is going to join Brother Sister New York N.Y.  There probably is an address
    here but it is too faint to be read clearly (13 Fru?tem).
17  has been to San Francisco once 1894.
