Ship Chas. N. Cooper
List of passengers arrived from Foreign ports into the port of Galveston during the Quarter ending December 31st, 1847.
Columns represent: Date, Name of Vessel, Name of Master, Names of Passengers, Age, Sex (U or O), Occupation, Country to which they severally belong, Country of which they indend to become inhabitants, Died on the voyage.
Columns Date, Name of Vessel and Name of Master were omitted as they were the same for all passengers: 23 Oct 1847, Ship Chas. N. Cooper, Ed. A. York, Master. Sex column did not indicate whether passenger was female or male; however, the letters U and O were listed at top of column. Each passenger had a number under one of those letters. I noted what the number was but am unsure what U and O refer to.

On the 2nd & 3rd pages of the list and starting with passenger 33, the recorder
switched column order and listed Occupation before Died on Voyage column.
For transcription consistency, I have continued to list columns as indicated
on first page.

Germany, the port will be listed as Germany Port Unspecified.
Passengers 2 & 3 are bracketed together at the age column.
Passenger 3 Surname could also be Brensen.
Passengers 5 & 6 are bracketed together at the name column.

both from same country.

Passenger 23 Town could be Braunschweig.
Passengers 25 through 32 are bracketed together at the name column.
Passenger 35 does not indicate an age; possibly born on ship & died.

last name.
