I Shubel* Swain do solemnly, sincerely and truly Swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New-York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Brig Brown whereof I am Master, from Vera Cruz. *  The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the
   original recorder; or a clarification by the transcriber.

*  The column "Died on the Voyage" and the sub-column "Months"
   have no entries; therefore these columns are omitted.

*  Captain: Signature given name is Shubael; in the statement
   where the name may have been filled in by someone else, it
   is written Shubel

*  Collector of Customs (in the sworn statement): Name is 
   indecipherable. It may end with the abbreviation *DC* which
   probably stands for "Deputy Collector*
