I Charles R Shipman do solemnly, sincerely and truly Swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New-York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Brig Athenian whereof I am Master from Carthagena. The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original
  recorder; or a clarification by the transcriber.
The use of a caret ^ indicates the following letters in that word are
  superscripted.

Passenger Notes:
2:     Given name may be Berard
5 & 6: After the names is a bracket indicating both are Consuls Men, followed
       by another bracket indicating both are Seaman. There is no entry under
       either Country column for these two men; also no age is given.
6:     Surname may be Teltan

Collector of Customs (in the sworn statement): Name is indecipherable. It
may begin with MO and may end with the abbreviation DC which would stand
for Deputy Collector.
