The family, nos. 26 - 28, of Johann Meier (usually spelled Meyer) are
ancestors of the transcriber and are known to have settled in Benton Co., MO.
The younger Catharine is the ggrandmother of the transcriber.
Also the Joachim Grube (usually spelled Gruben) family, nos. 6 - 11, is
known to have settled in Benton Co., MO along with no. 12, Henry Jagers
(should be spelled Jagels) who married no. 10, Anna Gruben in 1847

Apollo
The brig Apollo, built by Heinrich Bosse in Berg, near Bremen, on the
Weser River. It was 86 feet in length, 21 feet wide, and was launched
on March 31, 1835. The owner was Friedrich Leo Quentell of Bremen, and
he was also the owner of the brig Ferdinand. The Apollo made two trips
from Bremen to Galveston with passengers that were being transported by
the Society for the Protection of German Immigrants to Texas.
