Correspondence 07/01/01 passenger #177 Mannel
Passenger #177, Peter Mannel is my ggrandfather. He was born on July 7, 1831
in Wehrshausen, Hessen, Germany. He married Elisabeth Widmer of Canton
Aargau, Switzerland, in Monroe County, NY. about 1856 or 57. Their
children were: Mary Eliza, George Roos, Emma Ardelle, Henry Alfred,
Charles Peter (my grandfather), Frances Elizabeth and Ella Martha.
Sometime between 1861 and 1863, they moved to Monroe Co., Wisconsin.
A younger brother and two sisters followed him to America. An older
brother stayed in Wehrshausen to run the dairy farm and his descendants
still live on and work that same dairy farm.
