Ship "Mortonhouse", James Coultas, master. From Rotterdam, last from Cowes, sailed on June 21, 1729 and landed in Philadelphia, Pa., on Aug. 19, 1729, with seventy-five Palatines with their families, about one hundred and eighty persons.

Correspondence 10/28/01 passenger #23 PEFFELL
Nicolas Peffel was from Signau, Canton of Bern, Switzerland, 
accompanying him were his wife (married 1723) Barbara Barn, and 
their eldest son. Nicolas was brn Nicolas Pfieffli, and adopted 
the PEFFLEY spelling in Pennsylvania. He and his family settled 
in Lancaster (Dauphin) County.
