I, Cap Ettore Zar, Master, of the "Presidente Wilson" from Trieste, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that I have caused the surgeon of said vessel sailing therewith, or the surgeon employed by the owners thereof, to make a physical and mental examination of each and all of the aliens named in the foregoing Lists or Manifest Sheets, thirty in number, and that from the report of said surgeon and from my own investigation, I believe that no one of said aliens is of any of the classes excluded from admission into the United States by section three of the Immigration Act, and that also, according to the best of my knowledge and belief, the information in said Lists or Manifests concerning each of said aliens named therein is correct and true in every respect.

Correspondence 07/27/02 Passenger #868 Kancianic

Caterina Kancianic was born ca. 1888 in Dolenja Vas, Italy (now Istria,
Croatia). She was the daughter of Matteo Kancianic and Antonia Demark.
The brother of Matteo (John) and the sister of Antonia (Katerina) were
also married. John and Katerina were my 2nd great-grandparents. She had
three siblings, Toney, Joseph and Frank. John came to the US from
1923-1925 and returned to Croatia. Frank immigrated and lived in
Wisconsin. Toney is known to have been in the US in 1920 from Census
data. Caterina immigrated on July 4, 1921 aboard the USS Presidente
Wilson. She moved in with her brother Frank, in Racine, Wisconsin.
Caterina married Tony Yugo, who had two children from a previous
marriage (Tony and Emily). Caterina died in 1980.
