I, Cap Ettore Zar, Master, of the "Presidente Wilson" from Trieste, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that I have caused the surgeon of said vessel sailing therewith, or the surgeon employed by the owners thereof, to make a physical and mental examination of each and all of the aliens named in the foregoing Lists or Manifest Sheets, thirty in number, and that from the report of said surgeon and from my own investigation, I believe that no one of said aliens is of any of the classes excluded from admission into the United States by section three of the Immigration Act, and that also, according to the best of my knowledge and belief, the information in said Lists or Manifests concerning each of said aliens named therein is correct and true in every respect.

ALL ALIENS arriving at a port of continental United States from a foreign port or the port of an insular possession from a foreign port, a port of another possession, in whatever class they travel, MUST be fully listed and the master or commanding officer of each vessel carrying such passengers must upon arrival deliver lists thereof to the immigration officer.   * An asterisk* after the number indicates additional information 
    is in these Notes.
  * The original recorder used "Str" as the abbreviations for street,
    "perm" for Permanent, "accom" for accompanied and Country stated 
    as "Jugoslavia" for Yugoslavia.
  * Manifest lists Country before City, but these were reversed for 
    ease and consistency.
  * Last names were often placed first, so when done a comma was added.
  * The numbers on the Manifest were repeated, so consecutive numbers
    were given to the passengers for the ship as a whole.
  * Paragraph format was used instead of 49 columns to scroll across.
  * Semi colon (;) separates items. colon (:)separates description from
    answer appearing on original document.
  * The capitalization and spelling used (or not)is that of the original
    recorder.
 
Reviewer's Notes:
 
The passengers that are not US citizens have numbers, such as 3/1666 or 1/3650, 
written in the language coloumn. This means that they were tested for their reading ability. 
The first number represents a number for a certain language, the other numbers are a 
number for a certain sentence.


 827 The spelling of the original recorder was used; his father's name
     is different than his.
 828 The spelling of the original recorder used regarding lack of
     deformities.
 829 Either Michele is spelled wrong or the sex is wrong, either his/her
     last name or his/her father's is wrong.
     Reviewer's note: Michele could be the Italian version of the Belgian boys
     name Michel. The father's last names seems to be a typing error.
 830 The original recorder left the "n" off Slovenian.
 831 "private" occupation might be that answer was not given.(i.e.
     housewife), her place of birth was probably Gradnje, she was temporarily detained.
     The date is not complete, it usually is month/day/year.
 832 The spelling of the city of last residence and of birth differ.
 833 Jugoslavia is Yugoslavia - many European languages do not have a "y"
     in them, so they use a "j" instead.
 834 "SI" by number indicates held for Special Inquiry, also stamped
     "ADMITTED" indicating the disposition.
 836 "SI" by number indicates held for Special Inquiry, also stamped
     "ADMITTED" indicating the disposition.
 837 The original recorder used "private" under occupation - probably
     did not reveal.
 838 The spelling by the original recorder differs between City where
     he was going and that given in address for it.
 839 His last name is slightly different than his wife's last name.
 839 The original recorder misspelled the color of hair and eyes.
 840 It is interesting that the brothers do not have the same last name,
     and the City of last residence and of birth are spelled differently.
 841 The original recorder spelled the place of birth wrong.
