Transcriber's Notes:
* Country states Jugoslavia and not Yugoslavia.
* Manifest lists country first, for ease in reading
city has been typed first.
* Permanent residence within the meaning of this manifest shall
be actual or intended residence of one year or more.
* Although the original manifest was typed - it was sometimes
difficult to tell the difference between the o's and the e's. A ?
was used in those cases.
* Many numbers in column 1 are over stamped with Admitted and overwritten
with the letters S.I.
(An asterisk after the number will be used to indicate those)
* Some passengers have an X over the No. on list. These passengers were
temporarily detained. (An x after the number will be used to indicate those)
* Column 2 is used for Government officials only. This is blank except for
passengers under 16 yrs and for those there's a stamp "under 16".
Reviewer's Note:
The passengers that are not US citizens have numbers, such as 5-2605 or 5-2605,
written in the language coloumn. This means that they were tested for their reading ability.
The first number represents a number for a certain language, the other numbers are a
number for a certain sentence.
