AFFIDAVIT OF THE MASTER OR COMMANDING OFFICER,
OR FIRST OR SECOND OFFICER

I, Cap Ettore Zar, Master, of the "Presidente Wilson" from Trieste, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that I have caused the surgeon of said vessel sailing therewith, or the surgeon employed by the owners thereof, to make a physical and mental examination of each and all of the aliens named in the foregoing Lists or Manifest Sheets, thirty in number, and that from the report of said surgeon and from my own investigation, I believe that no one of said aliens is of any of the classes excluded from admission into the United States by section three of the Immigration Act, and that also, according to the best of my knowledge and belief, the information in said Lists or Manifests concerning each of said aliens named therein is correct and true in every respect.

  and dating this list. Other people have written all other numbers.
* Trnie is not in Italy, it is in Yugoslavia. 
* Passengers 471 - 474 have a discrepancy in the spelling of the 
  town for the last residence and the birth place. It obviously is 
  the same town.
* Passenger 475: this looks like a very sloppy written date: 5/23/49 or 45

Correspondence 02/22/2004 passenger Santely/Santel
Passenger #479 Francesca Santely was my grandmother.  Her maiden name, 
as we knew it was Santel.  Her D.O.B. was 2-19-1892.  She settled in 
Claridge, Pa.  She married Rudolph Silic on 5-10-1922.  They had 4 
children, Rudolph, William, Audrey and Merio.  Her husband died on 
6-7-1930, three days after their last child was born, who is my 
father.  She was the eldest child of Tomaso and Frances Santely.  Her 
siblings: Frank, Joseph, Mary, John, Tony, Stephanie and Peppka.  She 
remarried on 4-4-1932 to Steve Strelar and they had one daughter - Betty.  
She died on 3-7-1965. Theresa Silic

All passengers have numbers, such as 3-1649 or 4-214, written in the language coloumn. 
This means that they were tested for their reading ability. The first number represents a 
number for a certain language, the other numbers are a number for a certain sentence.
