AFFIDAVIT OF THE MASTER OR COMMANDING OFFICER,
OR FIRST OR SECOND OFFICER.

I, Cap Ettore Zar, Master, of the "Presidente Wilson" from Trieste, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that I have caused the surgeon of said vessel sailing therewith, or the surgeon employed by the owners thereof, to make a physical and mental examination of each and all of the aliens named in the foregoing Lists or Manifest Sheets, thirty in number, and that from the report of said surgeon and from my own investigation, I believe that no one of said aliens is of any of the classes excluded from admission into the United States by section three of the Immigration Act, and that also, according to the best of my knowledge and belief, the information in said Lists or Manifests concerning each of said aliens named therein is correct and true in every respect;______________

*  There were annotations made on manifest by Immigration Officers
   either at the time of arrival or after arrival.  Some of these 
   numbers indicate NY file numbers, verification for naturalization
   purposes, verification form used to transmit manifest information 
   to requesting INS office, thus indicating a verification/record check.

Reviewer's Notes: 

All passengers have numbers, such as 4-3626 or 4-1626, written in the language coloumn. 
This means that they were tested for their reading ability. The first number represents a 
number for a certain language, the other numbers are a number for a certain sentence.
