 The original document consisted of two pages, each numbered 1-30. Lister used 
 these numbers and at times partially filled a page. Transcriber numbered  
 consecutively.

It is worth noting that Passenger 55 was famed author W. Somerset Maugham 
(1874-1965), best known for his novel, "Of Human Bondage".

Correspondence 01/11/03 passengers 1204-1207 Conlon and 1191-1194 Lyons
Delia Conlon and her children (1204, 1205, 1206, 1207), as well 
as those of Cecelia Lyons (1191, 1192, 1193, 1194).

My mother recalls her Aunt Delia as having a very soft voice and a 
beautiful Irish brogue.  She also recalls Aunt Delia as being very short 
-- less than 4' 11".  Delia's husband Frank was my maternal grandfather's 
older brother.  1931-1933, my grandfather had built a summer cabin in 
northern Wisconsin (which still belongs to the family).  Frank and Delia 
visited while the kitchen (complete with wood stove and water pump) was 
being built.  Delia was asked how high the counters should be, and she 
responded logically for herself - a short person.  As those low counters 
are still there (causing today's adults to stoop and bend), it's become a 
tradition to have the shorter children wash and dry the dishes!

The three children on the manifest are Delia's oldest; she went on to have 
4 more: Rita, Bonnie, Francis, and a baby who died in infancy.  Francis 
was a soldier, and was killed in World War 2.  Delia must have been a 
brave person, for she took a babe in arms to Ireland and back.  Her second 
daughter, Leona Katherine, was named for Frank Conlon's youngest brother 
Leo (17 when Leona was born) .  She never liked the name Leona, and later 
insisted being called by her middle name, Katherine.  Leona Katherine 
Conlon died in 2001 in Naperville IL as Katherine Opelka, and is survived 
by her daughter Cathy Opelka Santogrossi. Chris Novak
