Perhaps the person who recorded the passengers' names and information
did not understand the German language or how to spell German names.
* General Note 2: Portions of the list are extremely difficult to read. If
letters cannot be deciphered, a "?" is noted for each undecipherable letter.
* General Note 3: Passengers 52-61 and 66-94 are from the town of Untergrombach
in the district of Bruchal. It lies in the province of Baden-Wurttemberg,
between Karlsruhe and Heidelberg, near the Rhein River, and today has
6,000 citizens. Research of the Generallandesarchiv in Karlsruhe done by the
townspeople have uncovered information on this list of immigrants, and in
several cases, corrected errors in the list. Where differences exit between
the list as written and information provided by Untergrombach, they are noted
in these transcriber's notes. For additional information on the immigrants
from Untergrombach, contact M. Lauber through the transcriber .
