Transcriber's Notes:
An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder not the
transcriber or is used to call your attention to additional information in the
Transcriber's Notes below.
The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to quality
of original document.
The use of a ^ indicates the the letters following were written in superscript.
This list was numbered by the transcriber, they are not part of the original
document.
The column "Died on the Voyage" was eliminated because there were no entries.
In the Occupation column, all blank spaces were marked with ditto marks. The
assumption would be made that the occupation applies to the entire family, but in
many cases this is illogical. (For example, men would be listed as Housewives or
small children as Miners.) Thus, the occupation has been listed only on the line
where it was written on the manifest, though it is possible that it applies to
other members of the family as well.
#1 - First name Richard. The surname of this passenger is written too lightly to
make out clearly. The two letters following the T appear as three small bumps,
possibly ur or ri. The letter following the i appears to be an n, or an si.
Since the dot for the i is high above the name, its not clear which letter it
belongs to. This name could be "Friend"
#7 - Thomas
#12 - This surname is clearly written Emonds, but since it is followed by several
passengers named Edmonds, it should most likely be Edmonds as well.
#14 - Thomas
#19 - Thomas
#25 - Catherine
#27 - Next to the number 10 a notation is made that is too small to read. Since
the child is listed as Inft (infant) the note might indicate that the child is
10 months.
#32 - Thomas
#38 - Thomas
#47 - This surname is either Selby or Sellry
#49 - First name La followed by 4 bumps, than an a. There is a dot above the word,
which could be the dot of an i. Name could possibly by Laurra, Lanna, Larrisa
or something similar.
#52 - Sex column blank, should be male.
#53 - First name probably Margaret. Sex column blank, should be female. Inft
denotes an infant.
The Captains tally count in his signature does not match the number of passengers
listed on this manifest. The reason for this is unknown.
