Transcriber's Notes:

This is the 3rd section of the manifest of the SS Oder, Bremen to New York,
  arrival Sept. 4, 1884.
The original manifest was in very poor condition or was filmed very badly.
There were huge areas of blackened copy and some data was impossible to
  read.
The transcriber did not include the following columns:
  1. Destination or location intended by each. Though the condition is poor,
it appears that the destination is "U.St."
  2. Date and cause of death (readable, but no data entered)
  3. Number of pieces of baggage (poor conditon)

The Captain added the column "places where passengers are from". This
column was in pretty bad shape but a few names were decifered. Sometimes
only the first or second letter was readable (and marked by ...), but
interested parties can contact the transcriber to receive a scan of the
  "place".

*Passengers #532 - 560 were listed on a page of the manifest that appears
to be pieced together wrong. The writer of the manifest was very diligent
in writing this list, always using the correct sex and not incorrectly
using ditto marks - but on this page many mistakes were noted, i.e. wrong
sex, age didn't fit occupations, etc. Bearing in mind the condition of
the manifest, the transcriber believes this page to be pieced incorrectly.
Please be aware that the names and ages may not match the remaining columns.

  *Passengers #453, 598, umlaut on the "a"
  *Passengers #424, 431, 450, 548-550, 551, 566, 571, umlaut on the "o"
*Passengers #439 and #440, accent mark on the "o" of Jano and Dero,
   respectively.
  *Passengers #536, 554, 555, 602, umlaut on the "u"
  *Passenger #499, 509, 569, 599-601, unreadable
  *Passenger #534, age left blank
*Passengers #544 and 545, last name could be Stower or Stuwer, with an
   umlaut on the first vowel.
*Passenger #561, the column "country of citizenship" had a ditto mark.
Since this passenger was listed after a page believed to be miss-pieced,
   the ditto is questionable.
*Passenger #576, surname could be Rienitz or Prienitz
*Passenger #596, surname could be Lollinger or Zollinger
*Passenger #612, first name could be Bohumila or Rohumila
