The fact that babies and children and wives are listed with men's occupations is the result of his recording. Correspondence 4/8/01 passengers #142-144 Lynch Ellen (Kinally) Lynch and her children Margaret & John came to New York City to join her husband James & her father Patrick Kinnally and brothers James, Patrick (from whom I am descended) and John and their families. James Lynch died ca. 1853 and Ellen married a Michael Murray. Ellen died August 11, 1884. Her daughter Margaret married William McWilliams & 3 of their children survived to adulthood, Ellen b. ca 1873, James b. ca 1879 and Thomas b. ca 1886. Ellen's son John married Katherine O'Donell and had five surviving children, Ellen b. ca 1882, James b. ca 1884 (married Jennie & had dau. Katherine b. ca 1917),Mary b. ca 1889, Katherine b. ca 1897 and Elizabeth b. ca 1899. This branch of the family was in New York City at least thru 1920, as were the other 3 branches. I have located descendants of Ellen Kinnally Lynch Murray's brothers - her line is the missing link. Mary W. Carlson
