Wood do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Ship Germania. Whereof I am Master from Havre, So help me God D. H. Wood

239 has a mark over the "a" in her surname; probably an umlaut
240 the third letter in the first name could be an "m" as in Memrad
245 has a mark over the "a" in her last name; probably an umlaut
249 the fifth letter could be an "s", the sixth letter could be
a "v" and the eighth letter could be an "h" or a "b" as in Hartsveb
or Hartsveh. The fifth and sixth letters also look like a "w" as
