Transcriber's Notes:
An * indicates an error on the part of the original record or is used to call your
attention to additional information in the Transcriber or Passenger Notes.
A ? indicates letters or words that cannot be read due to the quality of the original
document, and is clarified in the Transcriber or Passenger Notes.
A ^ indicates that the letters that follow are in superscript.
A m in age column indicates months of age.
Abbreviations are sometimes used for first names, for example, Cath^e for Catherine,
Dan^l for Daniel, Edw^d for Edward, Elis^h for Elisabeth, Geo probably for George,
Marg for Margret, Mich^l for Michael, Tho^s for Thomas, W^m for William.
432 Occupation was originally Labourer, has been crossed out and Miller written above it.
438 First name appears to read Ventor. It is not Victor.
447-448 Surname appears to read Mackill or Markill.
458-464 These entries are crossed out. Missing surname letter is a midline letter.
470 This entry is crossed out.
473 First numeral is 1 or is crossed out, hard to read. Age is 4 or 14.
481 This entry is crossed out.
482-484 These entries are crossed out. No surname given, no ditto marks. Could be
Carter if with passenger above them.
485 This entry is crossed out.
486-487 These entries are crossed out. No surname given, no ditto marks. Could be
Clarke is with passenger above them.
488 This entry is crossed out. Missing surname letter is covered by crossing mark,
possibly Greendey.
490 Surname unclear; appears to read Fuceran, all letters are mid-line.
492 Occupation is usually not given for females on this ship, listed by ditto marks
so I believe it actually should have been on line above or below hers.
500 First name clearly says Devid; probably means David.
502-503 Note deaths of infants at far right of list on November 2 and 4.
524 First name appears to read Batl or Batt, letters are pretty clear so no
suggestions as to meaning.
552-554 These entries are crossed out. Surname has cross marks over it but appears to
read Lidd.
557 No surname given. May belong to McCabe or Spillant (passengers before and after),
or could be someone else's child listed out of order.
566 First name is hard to read; probably Ellen or Eileen.
567-568 Originally listed as Mr Alben and Mrs Alben. Mr and Mrs were crossed out and
John and Mary added.
578 The missing letters are 2 or 3 midline letters, followed by a y or g.
583 Surname is Quick or Quirk.
600-601 Surname possibly has an umlaut over the 'a'.
604 First name begins with F or T, followed by 'ac', another midline letter,
and ends with 'da'.
613 Surname begins with L and is followed by about 4 midline letters. Guess at
Linin or Lirnin or the like, possibly ending with a 's' or a small flourish.
617-618 The sex is indicated with ditto marks; believe they should be listed as female.
