September 4, 1832

DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA - PORT OF PHILADELPHIA
I ___ do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the Report or Manifest subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the District of Phila contains to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers which were on board the Schr Congress at the time of her sailing from the port of St. John or which have been taken on board at any time since; that I am at present, and have been during the voyage, master of the said vessel. And I do likewise swear that all matters whatsoever in the said Report or Manifest are, to the best of my knowledge and belief, just and true. Sworn before me, this 10* day of ______ 1832. Transcriber's Notes:
  *This film is so faint that transcription had to be done with assistance from 
      the film --  print copy that I have is often unreadable.
  *The date on the sworn statement is 10 day of [blank] but date of Sept 4, 1832 
      was taken from the NARA label.
  *Captain's name could be Samuel or James.  The first letter rises like an "S" - 
      nothing below the line, but the next three letters are definitely "ame" 
      with one remaining letter that could be an "l" or an "s"  (more likely an
      "l" as it rises high).
